Moraira (Costa Blanca):
Moraira's perfect orientation provides many of its
properties with a southerly downhill view towards the
Mediterranean .It is slightly smaller resort than Javea
and Calpe and retains much of the considerable charm
of its origins as a small fishing village.
It has a modern marina and pleasant promenade with
plenty of bars and restaurants from which there are
spectacular views along the coast .
There are virtually no high-rise developments in Moraira
and it is an extremely sought after residential area.
It is a popular area for holidaymakers looking for villas
with pools . Most properties are detached villas and
bungalows and are all within easy reach of the centre
and the coast.
In the popular Cumbre de Sol area some of the villas
have the most amazing views you could imagine. From
some of the higher villas you can look out of your windows
and feel as if you are on a plane coming in to land!
You can see for miles and miles in all directions. Very
special and certainly a talking point when you have
visitors.
The coastal road between Moraira and Calpe is well
known as having some of the most spectacular views on
the whole of the Costa Blanca. There are numerous small
bays and coves with Baladra, La Fustera and Les Bassettes
perfect for a dip or walk along the coastal path. Penon
d'Ifach dominates the scenery and towers to over 1,000
feet.
The coastline here is gently undulating and the climate
very pleasant with the undulating topography provides
shelter in the winter and cooling breezes in the summer.
The popular weekly market draws in visitors from all
over the area as well as many locals.
You are quite spoiled for choice with a number of lovely
beaches and coves . The two most central are sheltered
and have been awarded EC Blue Flags for their cleanliness
and suitability for family bathing. The impressive modern
marina is home to boats from all over the Med all year
round.
On the leisure side you will find many activities and
sports are well catered for with all kinds of water
sports, tennis, golf, horse riding and walking amongst
the most popular.
Close by are the typical Spanish towns of Benissa and
Teulada which have retained much of their individual
identity. Weekly markets and frequent fiestas during
the summer help you to quickly feel very much at home
.
Watching the local young men being chased round a barricaded
town centre by bulls on a Saturday night is certainly
a novel weekend treat. Don't worry though the bulls
aren't hurt and are eventually taken home by the farmer
on a lead like a tired out little boy.
