Llanca (Costa Brava):
Not far from the French border Llanca is a pleasant
traditional port surrounded by the Pyrenees and popular
with both French and Spanish holidaymakers.
The sheltered harbour has a wide pebble beach and beautiful
promenade where the entertainment is of the quiet family
type with people-watching at one of the sea front bars
or restaurants coming favourite. There are no high rise
buildings or discos allowed in the area in order to
protect its laid back relaxed atmosphere.
Traditional festivals of music and dancing take place
on the maze of narrow streets in August whilst artists
and writers have often found inspiration from its unusual
light.
